Excalibur Home Improvements

About

FENSA Registered Company
Excalibur is a fully registered member of FENSA. FENSA stands for the Fenestration Self-Assessment Scheme. It has been set up by the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF), with Government approval, in response to the new Building Regulations for England and Wales (known as Document 'L').

One of the main reasons for this Building Regulation change is the need to reduce energy loss in the home. All glazing will need to be low emissivity glass ('K' Glass), providing even greater insulation, thus improving the thermal efficiency.

Registered approved member companies of FENSA are allowed to self certify their installations and will be subject to random checks. All installations will be recorded on the FENSA database which is available to local authorities and the Law Society.

FENSA will issue certificates to householders as proof of compliance. When a householder wishes to sell the property, solicitors will check the building regulations, failure will result in the cost of obtaining retrospective approval.

And Finally, to become a member of FENSA, companies must:

  • Comply with all building regulations
  • Be vetted to ensure general competence
  • Offer the customer an insurance backed guarantee
